This is a specific section within the linked-in website that allows for posting self-published materials. Several of those publishing to this section of the site are notable names in HR and marketing fields; but, there is no editorial over-sight. From my initial review, the material would appear to fail both WP:RS and WP:EL.

So far, I've only come across one user attempting to link their own works from these pages, disguised as refs. However, I'm listing here so others can be aware of the section of the site and to watch for its use. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:04, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Spammer Gary Ambrose out of Florida

Hi,

Just wanted to say I got doupted by this guy and his wife and partner. In the late spring of 2014 I signed up to the paid affiliat of

'Triple Your List' for the sum of $97. after several years as a free member. As soon as he had my money I started having problems with the

site. I thought nothing of it because I had been a free member for several years without a hitch. But, everything changed as soon as he had

my money. I sent several "contact notices" to the site without a response about the problems I was having. I forgot about it for a while and then

one day I tried to bring the site up and found out it was no longer on the web. I checked another site or two that he owned that I was a member of

and found out they too were off the web. Luckily I was just a free member, but I did have lots of advertising credits that I lost.

I found out that I was not the only person scammed by this guy, but the biggest problem now is his SPAMMING. And you can't delete him from your email

either.

This guy should be taken to task and prosicuted to the full extent of the law.

My thoughts,

Doug Pemberton

WikiProject X is live!

File:WikiProject X icon.svg

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

New edit filter

I've just enabled a new edit filter (657) which warns when users try to add external links to disambiguation pages, an edit which is more often that not indicative of attempting to add a spam link. Hopefully the warning will deter some editors but the [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:AbuseLog&wpSearchFilter=657 log] is worth monitoring for any saved edits. author receiving credits spamming wikipedia pages Daniel J. Levinson

There is someone editing pages adding links about a deceased author Daniel Levinson books however a lot of the links are for unjustified work that is not backed up by any recent findings, they are replacing new content/deleting it and references and adding their own linking to the authors books. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.171.56.231 (talk) 10:19, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
