The Wildcat travels through Greentown, Kokomo and Burlington before joining the Wabash River near Lafayette. Just west of Greentown, the creek becomes the Kokomo Reservoir. The Wildcat Guardians, a private environmental/recreational organization, works to keep the creek free of litter and debris.[http://www.wildcatguardians.org/ Wildcat Guardians]
Wildcat Creek is also a Group 5 waterway below dams in Kokomo, and due to high mercury and PCB content, fish are not to be consumed west of the dam.{{Cite web|url=https://www.purdue.edu/hhs/nutr/fish4health/indiana/waterways.html|title = Group 5 Waterways | Fish for Your Health™}}
