Wilhelm August Streitberg (23 February 1864 – 19 August 1925) was a German Indo-Europeanist, specializing in Germanic languages. Together with Karl Brugmann, he founded the {{lang|de|Indogermanische Forschungen}} journal.

He studied Germanistics and Indo-European philology at Münster Academy and at the universities of Berlin and Leipzig, receiving his habilitation for Indo-European linguistics at Münster in 1889. In 1906, he became a full professor, and three years later relocated to the University of Munich as a professor of Indo-European linguistics. In 1920, he returned to Leipzig, where he taught classes up until his death in 1925. From 1911 to 1920, he was a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.[http://www.uni-leipzig.de/unigeschichte/professorenkatalog/leipzig/Streitberg_159/ Prof. Dr. phil.
