Formed in 1967, the Windermere Cruising Association (WCA) is a sailing club with a programme of social, cruising and racing. The club is RYA accredited and does not possess a club house, relying on local venues - indoors and on the banks of the lake - for its meetings and events.{{cite web |title=AGM 2018 minutes |url=https://www.royal-windermere.co.uk/app/uploads/pdf/AGM/AGM-Min-240318.pdf |publisher=Royal Windermere Yacht Club |access-date=18 February 2024 |quote=it was encouraging to see Windermere Cruising Association using our clubhouse earlier this month for a social event}}
