The Women's Philippine Basketball League was a semi-professional women's basketball league in the Philippines.{{cite news |last1=Lising |first1=Charmie |title=WNBL's role in pushing for gender equality in sports |url=https://tv5.espn.com/basketball/story/_/id/29771355/wnbl-role-pushing-gender-equality-sports |accessdate=August 31, 2020 |work=ESPN5 |date=August 31, 2020}}

It was originally formed in 1998 as the women's counterpart to the Philippine Basketball League. The league went on hiatus from 2000 until it was revived in 2008.{{cite news |title=Mail And More joins WPBL |url=http://www.pbl.org.ph/wpbl.php |access-date=10 February 2022 |publisher=Philippine Basketball League |date=23 October 2008 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20081026152336/http://www.pbl.org.ph:80/wpbl.php|archive-date=26 October 2008}}{{cite news |title=RP women's basketball gets boost with revival of WPBL |url=https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/10/16/08/rp-womens-basketball-gets-boost-revival-wpbl |access-date=10 February 2022 |work=ABS-CBN News |date=16 October 2008}}{{cite news |title=Women’s cage league roster of teams balloons to 11… maybe 12? |url=https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/content/128735/women-s-cage-league-roster-of-teams-balloons-to-11-maybe-12/story/ |access-date=10 February 2022 |work=GMA News |date=22 October 2008 |language=en}} The league was revived by Mikee Romero.{{cite news |last1=Navarro |first1=Dante |title=Women cage league revival in the works |url=https://www.philstar.com/index.php?Sports&p=49&type=2&sec=30&aid=20081007176 |access-date=12 February 2022 |work=The Philippine Star |date=2008 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220212032609/http://www.gameface.ph/archive/index.php/t-28306.html |archive-date=12 February 2022}}

However, the league quickly folded after that season.

The league, at least for the 2008 season, was sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the country's national basketball federation.

Ever Bilena team of Dioceldo Sy dominated the league, winning all three seasons.{{cite web |last1=Buduan |first1=Joseph |title=WPBL: Slam Bang Revival, New Hoops Heroines |url=http://pbl.org.ph/wpbl.php |publisher=Philippine Basketball League |access-date=10 February 2022 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090211060557/http://pbl.org.ph:80/wpbl.php |archive-date=11 February 2009 |date=7 January 2009}}{{cite news |title=Grand slam worth the wait for Sy |url=https://www.philstar.com/sports/2008/12/26/426667/grand-slam-worth-wait-sy |access-date=10 February 2022 |work=The Philippine Star |date=26 December 2008}}
