The axe stands {{convert|15|m|ft}} tall and weighs over 55 tons. The axe-head is {{Convert|7|m|ft}} wide. The concrete stump is {{convert|10|m|ft}} in diameter. It was commissioned, designed and built in 1991 by the B.I.D. Canada LTD. company{{cite web|url=https://www.bidcanadaltd.com/other-products/|title=B.I.D.
