Xiaomi says it made over 40 aerodynamic optimizations which reduced drag by 78 counts to 0.245{{Nbsp}}Cd, increasing range on the CLTC test cycle by {{Convert|59|km|mi}}. This includes 18 counts from active grille shutters which increases range by {{Convert|14|km|mi}} alone, 10 and 5 counts for the upper and lower spoilers, respectively, 2.5 counts from frameless side mirrors, 9 counts from wheel spats, 6 counts from a rear wheel well vent and side spoiler, and 5 counts from an aerodynamic wheel design.

In the interior, the sparse dashboard has a {{Convert|1.1|m|in|adj=on}} wide 'HyperVision' panoramic head-up display reflecting off the masked base of the windshield, a 16.1-inch center infotainment touchscreen, and hidden air vents. The HyperVision display consists of three mini-LED panels with 108-PPD resolution, capable of up to 1200{{Nbsp}}nits of brightness, and has 903-zone full-array local dimming, which serves as the instrument cluster, and can show blind-spot cameras, sensor information, media details, and more through customizable widgets. All displays are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which Xiaomi says allows for 1.35-second boot-up times and OTA update installation in as little as 15 minutes. The two-tone steering wheel uses roller wheels and left-right buttons, and has drive mode and autonomous driving selection controls mounted low on the center hub; the shifter is mounted on the steering column. Below the center infotainment display, the center console has two active-cooled wireless charging pads, behind which are two circular cupholders and a split-opening storage compartment door; the back has a removable 6.68-inch touchscreen for rear passengers to access climate, seat, media, and navigation controls. Like the SU7, the YU7's infotainment screen has a physical control accessory and mounting points on the dashboard for accessories such as cupholders, phone mounts, and cameras.{{Cite web |last=Rainford |first=Mark |date=2025-05-22 |title=Xiaomi YU7 Unveiled With Supercar-baiting Pace And Safety Focus » Inside China Auto |url=https://insidechinaauto.com/2025/05/22/xiaomi-yu7-unveiled-with-supercar-baiting-pace-and-safety-focus/ |access-date=2025-05-29 |website=Inside China Auto |language=en-GB}}

The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather and high-frequency touch points throughout the cabin are covered in soft-touch material, allowing for a OEKO-TEX Class 1 certification. The front seats have a 10-point massage function and a 'zero-gravity' 123° recline mode. The rear seats have power-adjustable backrest rake between 100–135°. It is available in three colorways: Twilight Blue, Coral Orange, and dual-tone Stone Grey with Pine Green.

Powertrain

The YU7 is powered by a choice of either a rear-wheel drive or two dual motor all-wheel drive powertrains, all using Xiaomi's self-developed HyperEngine V6s Plus motors and a 871V SiC electrical architecture.{{Cite web |last=Zhang |first=Phate |date=2025-02-17 |title=Regulatory filing: Xiaomi YU7 SUV has CLTC range of up to 820 km |url=https://cnevpost.com/2025/02/17/regulatory-filing-xiaomi-yu7-battery-range/ |access-date=2025-03-02 |website=CnEVPost |language=en-US}}
