Administrative division
As of 2016, the town is divided into nine villages:

History
The town was known as "Fuquan" ({{zh|s=福泉镇|labels=no}}) in the Republic of China.{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}}
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in 1950, it was called "Daxing District" ({{zh|s=大兴区|labels=no}}).{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}} In 1958, it was renamed "Daxing People's Commune" ({{zh|s=大兴人民公社|labels=no}}).{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}} The town reverted to its former name of "Daxing District" in 1984.{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}} In 1988, it split into Daxing Township ({{zh|s=大兴乡|labels=no}}) and Wenle Lisu Ethnic Township ({{zh|s=文乐傈僳族乡|labels=no}}).{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}} In 2002, it was upgraded to a town. On 6 January 2006, the two townships merged to form the town of Xingquan ({{zh|s=兴泉镇|labels=no}}).
Geography
The town is situated in the northeastern Huaping County, bordering Zhongxin and Chuanfang Lisu Ethnic Township to the west, Shilongba to the south, {{ill|Huimin, Yanbian County|zh|惠民镇 (盐边县)|lt=Huimin}} of Yanbian County to the north, and Geliping of Xi District to the east.{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}} The highest point in the town is Leng Mountain ({{zh|s=冷山|l=Cold Mountain|labels=no}}) which stands {{convert|2860|m}} above sea level. The lowest point is Sandong Bridge ({{zh|s=三洞桥|l=Three Hole Bridge|labels=no}}), which, at {{convert|1220|m}} above sea level.
The Daxing River ({{zh|s=大兴河|labels=no}}), Longdong River ({{zh|s=龙洞河|labels=no}}) and Nanyang River ({{zh|s=南阳河|labels=no}}) flow through the town.{{sfn|He Jing|Liu Zhengfang|1997|p=45}}

Economy
