Xylocalyx asper is a species of plant in the family Orobanchaceae.{{cite web|url= https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:812952-1|title= Xylocalyx asper Balf.f.|author=|date=n.d.|website=Plants of the World Online|publisher=The Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew|access-date= August 1, 2020}} It is a subshrub endemic to the islands of Socotra and Samhah in Yemen's Socotra Archipelago. It grows on coastal plains and dry foothills, and less commonly on limestone plateaus (Ras Geridihon), from sea level to 600 metres elevation. It grows at lower elevations than X. aculeolatus.
