Background
In November 2017, the Granada-born Miriam Doblas, known as "Mimi", was evicted from the ninth edition of the Spanish talent competition Operación Triunfo at the Gala 3. Since then, Doblas began participating in different projects to boost her singing career. In the first quarter of 2018 it was confirmed that she had signed with Universal Music. In April of that same year, rumors circulated about a possible musical group made up of Doblas and three more of her teammates from the contest, however, "it was an idea that was put on the table as Mimi put Lola Indigo previously, but each one shot for what she wanted to do".{{Cite web|url=https://www.elconfidencial.com/television/programas-tv/2018-07-26/lola-indigo-mimi-operacion-triunfo-ot-tu-cara-me-suena_1597865/|title=Mimi ('OT'): "Luché por Lola Indigo frente al proyecto grupal que nos propusieron"|date=2018-07-26|website=www.elconfidencial.com|language=en|access-date=2020-04-11}}{{Cite web|url=https://us.hola.com/actualidad/20180402122266/ot-grupo-formula-abierta/|title=OT 2017: ¿Qué concursantes de OT 2017 podrían formar un nuevo Fórmula Abierta?|date=2018-04-02|website=HOLA USA|language=es-US|access-date=2020-04-11}}
The Lola Indigo project was finally announced through the social networks of Doblas in June 2018 as: "a project directly linked to dance where each song written is intended for the movement, it would not make sense without a group of dancers to represent it. That's not just Mimi. This is Lola Indigo", implying that Lola Indigo would be a musical group where Doblas would be the vocalist along with three or four dancers who would accompany their songs.{{Cite web|url=https://www.formulatv.com/noticias/81394/mimi-ot2017-anuncia-lola-indigo-grupo-sera-vocalista/|title=Mimi ('OT 2017') anuncia Lola Indigo, el grupo en el que será vocalista|website=FormulaTV|language=es|access-date=2020-04-11}} On July 2, the name of Lola Indigo's first single was announced in the same way.{{Cite web|url=https://us.hola.com/actualidad/20180717127190/mimi-lola-indigo-fama-gt/|title=Mimi une Operación Triunfo y Fama ¡A Bailar! en su nuevo proyecto|date=2018-07-17|website=HOLA USA|language=es-US|access-date=2020-04-11}} During the third week of July, the other members of the group were announced.
