{{nihongo|Yakushima Airport|屋久島空港|Yakushima Kūkō}} {{airport codes|KUM|RJFC}} is an airport located on the island of Yakushima in Kumage District, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. It lies by the coast, between the towns of Anbō and Miyanoura.
History
The airport was opened in 1963 with an 1100-meter runway. The runway was extended to 1200 meters in 1975 and to 1500 meters in 1976. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced in April 2024 that it had adopted the project to extend the runway to 2,000m starting this fiscal year.
