The Yangkaal language was an Australian Aboriginal language, also known as Yanggaralda,{{sfn|Tindale|1974|p=170}} Janggal, Gananggalinda, Nemarang, among other names. Geoffrey O'Grady grouped it as a variety of Yukulta within the Tangkic language family.{{efn|'Tangkic Group Jakula-Njangga (Yanggal, Nyangga).'{{sfn|O'Grady|Voegelin|Voegelin|1966|p=54}}}} The implication was that "Yanggal" was simply an alternative name for "Njangga", which is an alternative ethnonym for the Yanyula (Yanyuwa), from which the word Yanggal may have derived.{{sfn|Dixon|Blake|1983|p=193}}
