Ynyscedwyn Ironworks is an industrial complex located in Ystradgynlais, near Swansea, Wales. Smelting was first established here in seventeenth century. In the 1820s, with the arrival of George Crane, production was expanded.{{cite web|title=Ynyscedwyn Ironworks|url=http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Ynyscedwyn_Ironworks|website=Grace's Guide|publisher=Grace's Guide|access-date=30 July 2016}} Crane was the first ironmaster who successfully tried anthracite to a blast furnace in 1837.Hyde, p. 159.

In 1837, London bankers, Charles Price and Joseph Marryat, invested in the Ynyscedwyn Ironworks.{{cite web|last1=Strauch|first1=Annette|title=Reference code(s): GB 0216 DD YISC|url=http://www2.archivesnetworkwales.info/cgi-bin/anw/frames/browse2?inst_id=34&coll_id=77120&expand=|website=Archives Network Wales|publisher=Archives Network Wales|access-date=30 July 2016}}

The remaining structures were built in 1872 to house a planned steel mill. Although not completed, the site housed the Ynyscedwyn Tinplate Works.
