Yumu is a minor Kainji language of Nigeria. It is listed as a potential Kambari language by Roger Blench,Roger Blench, 2010. [http://www.rogerblench.info/Language/Niger-Congo/BC/Kainji/Kambari/KmbOP.htm The Kambari languages] however it does not have an Ethnologue nor Glottolog entry.

The village of Yumu, said to be "of obscure origin", is located on the western side of Kainji Lake in Agwara District, Niger State, adjacent to the areas of the divergent Kainji languages of Reshe, Lopa and Laru.{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=mcYNDgAAQBAJ&q=yumu+language+kambari&pg=PT22|title=Peoples of the Middle Niger Region Northern Nigeria: Western Africa|last1=Gunn|first1=Harold|last2=Conant|first2=F.
