Carbacephems are a class of synthetic antibiotics, based on the structure of cephalosporin, a cephem. Carbacephems are similar to cephems, but with a carbon substituted for the sulfur.{{cite web |url=http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/464632_2 |title=Medscape.com|access-date=2008-12-29}}
