disordered piling

{{nihongo|Disordered piling|乱石積|ransekizumi}} is a Japanese wall-building technique consisting of large number of small stones packed tightly together.[http://www.aisf.or.jp/~jaanus/deta/r/ransekizumi.htm Japanese Architecture and Art Net Users System - ransekizumi] It was used in some Japanese castle walls to create a wall that was difficult to climb. As it became more sophisticated it evolved into a technique known as burdock piling.[http://bcis.pacificu.edu/castles/home.html pacificu.edu - Japanese Castles] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130205065546/http://bcis.pacificu.edu/castles/home.html |date=2013-02-05 }}
