elastic matching

{{Short description|Pattern recognition technique}}

Elastic matching is one of the pattern recognition techniques in computer science. Elastic matching (EM) is also known as deformable template, flexible matching, or nonlinear template matching.{{Cite arXiv |eprint=1612.02190|last1=Talmi|first1=Itamar|title=Template Matching with Deformable Diversity Similarity|last2=Mechrez|first2=Roey|last3=Zelnik-Manor|first3=Lihi|class=cs.CV|year=2016}}

Elastic matching can be defined as an optimization problem of two-dimensional warping specifying corresponding pixels between subjected images.
