The eo ({{Korean|hangul=어|hanja=敔}}) or tiger is a wooden percussion instrument carved in the shape of a tiger with a serrated back,{{cite web|url=http://www.daehanmindecline.com/2015/20150316.html|title=Introduction of SKKU's instruments.|accessdate=28 February 2016}} played by running a bamboo whisk across the serrations. The instrument is often played to punctuate the ends of sections of music.{{Citation |last=권 |first=오성 |title=어 (敔) |work=Encyclopedia of Korean Culture |url=https://encykorea.aks.ac.kr/Article/E0035890 |access-date=2024-07-02 |publisher=Academy of Korean Studies |language=ko}} It is derived from the Chinese yu. On the back of the tiger is a jeoeo (저어, {{linktext|齟齬}}) that looks like 27 saws. When the music stops, the performer knocks and scratches this jeoeo through the jin ({{lang|ko|진}}) and gives a signal.
