Fasciitis is an inflammation of the fascia,{{cite web|title=fasciitis|url=http://www.thefreedictionary.com/fasciitis|publisher=TheFreeDictionary|access-date=20 January 2014}} which is the connective tissue surrounding muscles, blood vessels and nerves.

In particular, it often involves one of the following diseases:

  • Necrotizing fasciitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
