Follicular fluid is a liquid which fills the follicular antrum and surrounds the oocyte in an ovarian follicle. This fluid is rich in hyaluronic acid, and is used in a modified intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) called physiological ICSI (PICSI), semi-viscous and yellow in colour.{{cite journal |last1=Fahiminiya |first1=S |last2=Gérard |first2=N |title=[Follicular fluid in mammals]. |journal=Gynécologie, Obstétrique & Fertilité |date=June 2010 |volume=38 |issue=6 |pages=402–4 |doi=10.1016/j.gyobfe.2010.04.010 |pmid=20576551}} Its components come mainly from granulosa cells.{{Cite journal|pmid = 27203305|year = 2016|last1 = Basuino|first1 = L.|last2 = Silveira Jr|first2 = C.
