Free energy suppression (or new energy suppression) is a conspiracy theory that technologically viable, pollution-free, no-cost energy sources are being suppressed by governments, corporations, or advocacy groups.{{cite book |author-link= Robert L. Claims of suppression include:
- The claim that the scientific community has controlled and suppressed research into alternative avenues of energy generation via the institutions of peer review and academic pressure.Phenomenon Archives: Heavy Watergate, The War Against Cold Fusion. Channel One. (video)
- The claim that devices exist which are capable of extracting significant and usable power from pre-existing unconventional energy reservoirs, such as the quantum vacuum zero point energy, for little or no cost, but are being suppressed.David Alison (1994), "Another free-energy cover-up?: The Dennis Lee Story", Nexus, (June–July 1994){{cite book |last=Frissell |first=Bob |title=Nothing in this book is true, but it's exactly how things are : the esoteric meaning of the monuments on Mars |publisher=Frog Distributed by North Atlantic Books |publication-place=Berkeley, Calif |year=2002 |isbn=1-58394-067-7 |oclc=50065097 }}{{cite book |author=Mad Macz |title=Internet underground : the way of the hacker |publisher=PageFree Pub |year=2002 |isbn=1-930252-53-6 |oclc=50798769 }}
