Kushiroite is a rare mineral of the pyroxene group, with formula CaAlAlSiO6. It is the fully aluminian member. The formula of kushiroite corresponds to the molecule (or component) known as Calcium-Tschermak (Ca-Tschermak), which dominates in the composition of kushiroite. Kushiroite is an aluminium-analogue of other pyroxene-group members, davisite, esseneite, and grossmanite. It was found in a chondrite meteorite within refractory inclusions.Kimura, M., Mikouchi, T., Suzuki, A., Miyahara, M., Ohtani, E., and El Goresy, A., 2009, Kushiroite, CaAlAlSiO6: A new mineral of the pyroxene group from the ALH 85085 CH chondrite, and its genetic significance in refractory inclusions. American Mineralogist 94(10), 1479-1482.{{cite web|url=http://www.mindat.org/min-39329.html |title=Kushiroite: Kushiroite mineral information and data |website=Mindat.org |accessdate=2016-03-02}}

The mineral crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system (space group C2/c).{{cite journal |last1=Okamura |first1=F.P. |last2=Ghose |first2=S. |last3=Ohashi |first3=H. |journal=American Mineralogist |volume=59 |year=1974 |pages=549–557 |title=Structure and crystal chemistry of calcium Tschermak's pyroxene, CaAlAlSiO6 |url=https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/msa/ammin/article-abstract/59/5-6/549/541077 |access-date=30 December 2020}}
