lithium depletion boundary
The lithium depletion boundary (LDB) technique is a method proposed for dating open clusters based on a determination of the lithium abundances of a cluster's stars whose masses are at about the hydrogen burning mass limit.{{citation | postscript=. | last=Darling | first=David | year=2004 | title=The Universal Book of Astronomy'' }} This technique is limited to clusters that are {{val|20|to|200}} Myr old.{{citation | postscript=. | title=Theoretical Examination of the Lithium Depletion Boundary | display-authors=1 | last1=Burke | first1=Christopher J. | last2=Pinsonneault | first2=Marc H. | last3=Sills | first3=Alison | journal=The Astrophysical Journal | volume=604 | issue=1 | pages=272–283 | date=March 2004 | doi=10.1086/381242 | arxiv=astro-ph/0309461 | bibcode=2004ApJ...604..272B }}
