The Martyrs of Alkmaar ({{langx|nl|Martelaren van Alkmaar}}) were a group of 5 Dutch Catholic clerics, secular and religious from Alkmaar, who were hanged on 24 June 1572 in the town of Enkhuizen by militant Dutch Calvinists during the 16th-century religious wars—specifically, the Dutch Revolt against Spanish rule, which developed into the Eighty Years' War.{{cite book|isbn=9783525557877|title=Handbook of Dutch Church History|page=220|publisher=Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht|author-link=Herman Selderhuis|first=Herman|last=Selderhuis|date=10 December 2014 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=O_gxBgAAQBAJ}} These atrocities were inflicted by the Calvinist leader, Diederik Sonoy.{{Cite ADB|34|658|661|Sonoy, Dietrich|Pieter Lodewijk Muller|ADB:Sonoy, Dietrich}}
