Mignonette sauce is a condiment made with minced shallots, cracked pepper, and vinegar traditionally served with raw oysters.

The French

term mignonnette originally referred to a sachet of peppercorns, cloves, and spices used to flavor liquids, but now means cracked pepper.

While mignonette sauces may differ based on the type of vinegar, all contain pepper and shallots.{{cite web|url=http://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/oysters-on-the-half-shell-with-mignonette-sauce.html|title=Oysters on the Half Shell with Mignonette Sauce|work=williams-sonoma.com|access-date=21 December 2016}}{{cite web|url=http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/oysters-half-shell-rose-mignonette|title=Oysters on the Half Shell with Rosé Mignonette|work=foodandwine.com|access-date=21 December 2016}}{{cite web|url=http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/10475-mignonette-sauce-for-oysters|title=Mignonette sauce for oysters Recipe|work=The New York Times|access-date=21 December 2016}}
