Multi-primary color (MPC) display is a display that can reproduce a wider gamut of color than conventional displays. In addition to the standard RGB (Red Green and Blue) color subpixels, the technology utilizes additional colors, such as yellow, magenta and cyan, and thus increases the range of displayable colors that the human eye can see.{{cite journal|title=Design Considerations Between Color Gamut and Brightness for Multi-Primary Color Displays|journal= Journal of Display Technology|volume=3|pages=71–82|date=February 26, 2007|doi=10.1109/JDT.2006.890701|last1=Ou-Yang|first1=Mang|last2=Huang|first2=Shih-Wei|issue=1 |bibcode=2007JDisT...3...71O |s2cid=22206690 }}{{cite journal|title=Development of Multi-Primary Color LCD|url=http://www.genoacolor.com/Media/DBImages/IDMC07_AUO_manuscript_0515.pdf|website=Genoacolor.com|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120425091830/http://www.genoacolor.com/Media/DBImages/IDMC07_AUO_manuscript_0515.pdf|archive-date=2012-04-25}}
