Potato babka is a savoury dish, popular especially in Belarus{{cite book | last=Bolotnikova | first=V.A. | title=Byelorussian Cuisine | publisher=Uradzhai | year=1979 | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=3zNaAAAAYAAJ| access-date=January 9, 2017|pages=4, 6}} and northeastern Poland, where it is known as babka ziemniaczana.{{cite book | last=Planet | first=L. | last2=Baker | first2=M. | last3=Di Duca | first3=M. | last4=Richards | first4=T. | title=Lonely Planet Poland | publisher=Lonely Planet Publications | series=Travel Guide | year=2016 | isbn=978-1-76034-120-6 | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=uXG6CwAAQBAJ&pg=PT267 | access-date=January 9, 2017 | page=267}} It is made from grated potatoes, eggs, onions, and pieces of smoked, boiled or fried bacon and (especially in Poland) sausage. It is oven-baked in a crock, and often served with a sauce of sour cream and pork flitch. Depending on recipe and cooking method, it may be either a flaky potato pie or a heavy potato pudding.

In 2016, the claimed world's largest potato babka, 2 meters in diameter, was baked in the village of Sula, Belarus.[http://m.diena.lt/naujienos/ivairenybes/sunku-patiketi/baltarusiai-sieke-bulviu-plokstainio-rekordo-739139 "LIETUVIAMS NUTĮS SEILĖ: BALTARUSIAI IŠKEPĖ MILŽINIŠKĄ BULVIŲ PLOKŠTAINĮ"]
