A pulsar clock is a clock which depends on counting radio pulses emitted by pulsars.

Pulsar clock in Gdańsk

The first pulsar clock in the world was installed in St. Catherine's Church, Gdańsk, Poland, in 2011.{{cite journal|title=World's most accurate clock to be built in Gdańsk |journal=Nauka W Polsce |year=2011 |url=https://naukawpolsce.pl/aktualnosci/news,386338,w-gdansku-dziala-najdokladniejszy-czasomierz-swiata-zegar-pulsarowy.html |accessdate=2021-12-12 }} It was the first clock to count the time using a signal source outside the Solar System, and represents the second type of clock to measure time using a signal source outside the Earth, after sundials. The pulsar clock consists of a radiotelescope with 16 antennas, which receive signals from six designated pulsars. Digital processing of the pulsar signals is done by an FPGA device.{{cite journal|title=Gdański Zegar Pulsarowy |journal=Muzeum Zegarow Wiezowych |year=2011 |url=http://www.mhmg.gda.pl/index.php?view=event,339&oddzial=5 |accessdate=2012-03-20 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20111213061916/http://www.mhmg.gda.pl/index.php?view=event,339&oddzial=5 |archivedate=December 13, 2011 }}

Pulsar clock in Brussels

On October 5, 2011, a display showing the exact time of the pulsar clock, as a repeater of Gdańsk's pulsar clock, was installed in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.{{cite journal | title =Gdański Zegar Pulsarowy w Parlamencie Europejskim | journal =Gdanski Park Naukowo Technologiczny | year =2011 | url =http://www.gpnt.pl/pl/z-ycia-parku/aktualnosci-parku/594-gdaski-zegar-pulsarowy-w-parlamencie-europejskim.html | accessdate =2012-03-20 | archive-url =https://web.archive.org/web/20130621021713/http://www.gpnt.pl/pl/z-ycia-parku/aktualnosci-parku/594-gdaski-zegar-pulsarowy-w-parlamencie-europejskim.html# | archive-date =2013-06-21 | url-status =dead }}
