In May 2006 7 päivää caused a controversy by printing on its front cover a picture of Tomi Putaansuu, the lead singer of the band Lordi, without his face make-up on, although the band had requested – after winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 – that no pictures of unmasked band members be published. The picture caused a huge reaction among Finns, and in merely two days over 180,000 Finns had signed a pledge to boycott the magazine.{{cite web |title=Lordi fans furious at outing by gossip magazine |url=http://www.hs.fi/english/article/Lordi+fans+furious+at+outing+by+gossip+magazine/1135220038344 |work=Helsingin Sanomat |date=26 May 2006 |access-date=26 May 2006 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060530033844/http://www.hs.fi/english/article/Lordi%2Bfans%2Bfurious%2Bat%2Bouting%2Bby%2Bgossip%2Bmagazine/1135220038344 |archive-date=30 May 2006 |url-status=dead |df=dmy-all }} Some advertisers even withdrew their contracts with 7 päivää because of the event.{{cite web|title=Mainostajat vetäneet ilmoituksiaan Seiskasta |url=http://www.hs.fi/kaupunki/artikkeli/Mainostajat+vetäneet+ilmoituksiaan+Seiskasta/1135220039234 |work=Helsingin Sanomat |date=26 May 2006 |access-date=26 May 2006 |language=fi |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060530053721/http://www.hs.fi/kaupunki/artikkeli/Mainostajat%2Bvet%C3%A4neet%2Bilmoituksiaan%2BSeiskasta/1135220039234 |archive-date=30 May 2006 |url-status=dead }} The magazine quickly apologized for the picture.{{cite web|title=Anteeksi, Lordi|url=http://www.seiska.fi/toimitus/_a38189/anteeksi+lordi/|work=7 päivää|language=fi|access-date=26 May 2006|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060526071905/http://www.seiska.fi/toimitus/_a38189/anteeksi+lordi/|archive-date=26 May 2006|url-status=dead|df=dmy-all}} Katso also published some pictures, too, but it did not gain so much attention.
