It belongs to the fourth group, Yonkyo, of the traditional throwing list, Gokyo (no waza),{{cite web | url=http://www.judoinfo.com/gokyo1.htm | title=The Gokyo of Kodokan: 40 Throwing Techniques | Judo Info }} of Kodokan Judo.
