The step over (also known as the pedalada, the denílson, or the scissors, or the roeder shuffle{{sfnp|Simpson|2013|p=35}}) is a dribbling move, or feint, in association football, used to fool a defensive player into thinking the offensive player, in possession of the ball, is going to move in a direction they do not intend to move in.{{cite news |url = http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/skills/4187702.stm |title = Football | Skills | The step over |work = BBC News |date = 30 August 2005 |access-date = 20 May 2014 }}
