Introduction of mid-engined cars

Prompted by [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Formula_One&diff=prev&oldid=1269406311 this recent edit], here's a Reddit thread discussing the first mid-engined F1 car, for consideration/reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/9nm1wl/the_old_f1_curiosity_shop_the_oddly_complicated/ DH85868993 (talk) 08:40, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

Sprint wins

I presume sprint wins do not count in the decision of who has won a championship when points totals end up equal? I tried to find out, but haven't been able to. Should there be something in the article? Tony Holkham (Talk) 21:10, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

:No, sprint results do not contribute. This article does not discuss the countback system (as far as I can tell), so there is no distinction to be made here, and I would suggest that the distinction is made sufficently clear in the season articles - I just checked 2024, but assume we use standard wording across all the relevant seasons. ::@SSSB Thank you. Tony Holkham (Talk) 22:11, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

:It's not mentioned in the sporting regulations ([https://www.fia.com/regulation/category/110], then you have to click on the PDF). It just says "the holder of the greatest amount of first places in a race", which I don't think would include sprints. GalacticVelocity08 (talk) 21:37, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

::In the regulations, "race" refers to Sunday's Grand Prix, and "sprint" refers to Saturday's sprint. So, in that sense, it is mentioned within the sporting regulations, as the regulations say "greatest anount of first places in a race", not the "greatest amount of first places across a race or sprint" SSSB (talk) 21:57, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
