terminal market
{{Short description|Type of trading place}}
A terminal market is a central site, often in a metropolitan area, that serves as an assembly
and trading place for commodities. Terminal markets for agricultural commodities are usually at or near major transportation hubs.{{CRS|article = Report for Congress: Agriculture: A Glossary of Terms, Programs, and Laws, 2005 Edition|url = http://ncseonline.org/nle/crsreports/05jun/97-905.pdf|author= Jasper Womach}} One of the models of a Terminal Market is a Hub-and-Spoke model wherein the Terminal Market is the hub which is to be linked to a number of collection centers - the spokes.{{cite web |url= http://agricoop.nic.in/sites/default/files/OpGdTM.pdf |title= Operational Guidelines for Setting Up of Terminal Market Complex |date= July 2009 |publisher= Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India }}
