Started to translate the article 'Karen Köhler' with Johanna.90 min in class, 90 min at homeStill getting used to Wikipedia's editing tools, sometimes difficult to know whether I should translate the names of German books and institutions or whether I should leave them in German, as some have commonly used English translations and some do not.
Finished translating the 'Karen Köhler' article with Johanna, published the article.90 min in class, 90 min at homeLearning how to transfer references from the German article and adding categories to the end of the finished article, accidentally published the article a bit prematurely, as we should have created a page using one of our user names and '/KarenKöhler' first.
Putting last touches to the 'Karen Köhler' article, looking for a new article to translate with Mirjam. Found the article 'Freundschaftsbrücke (Deutschland-Frankreich)' to translate and started translating it90 min in class, 120 min at homeFinding certain topic specific words and phrases difficult to translate. Also had to do a bit of research on some of the historical and geographical context mentioned in the 'Freundschaftsbrücke (Deutschland-Frankreich)' article to try and make sure that I was interpreting the meaning of certain parts of the article correctly.
Continued translating the 'Freundschaftsbrücke (Deutschland-Frankreich)' article with Mirjam90 min in class, 60 min at homeSame issues as last week.
Finished off my part of the 'Freundschaftsbrücke (Deutschland-Frankreich)' article and started proofreading90 min in class, 90 min at homeUseful to give the article a read through again with fresh eyes as it is easier to spot certain phrases that maybe do not sound so natural English and are more so a direct translation of German.
Finished the 'Freundschaftsbrücke (Deutschland-Frankreich)' article, did an extra section of the translation. Published it.90 min in class, 60 min at homeWas good to finish the Friendship bridge article. 8Started translation the article 'Haus Lichtenstein' with Ilana90 min in class, 90 min at homePretty challenging article as there are many long sentences and lots of new architecture-related vocabulary
Continued translating the 'Haus Lichtenstein' article90 min in class, 90 min at homeThe translation is really quite long so it's taking quite a lot of time to get through. Similar challenges as last week.
Finished off the 'Haus Lichtenstein' translation, proof read and published it90 min in class, 90 min at homeSimilar challenges as the two previous weeks.
