Are you new to Wikipedia...

  • and looking for a satisfying task? Check out :Category:Wikipedia introduction cleanup. You don't (or shouldn't) need to do any research to fix these articles - most of them are here because they are tagged with "lead too short". Find one of those, read the article, then rewrite the lead so it summarizes it accurately. Now you can remove the "lead too short" tag. Done! Since the "lead" is what is shown in Google Search results and so on, this is an immediately helpful and visible change. You've made the internet better already!
  • and already have a strong background in writing and research? The Good Article process is always in need of new reviewers. If you're interested, consider acquiring a WP:GAMENTOR.
  • and interested in translating articles to English? Make sure you read WP:HOWTRANS. Attribution is really important!
  • and interested in writing biographies of women? Join Women in Red! It's a large and active wikiproject, and very welcoming to newcomers.
  • and looking for help? Feel free to ask any questions on my Talk page. You can also ask at WP:TEA.

Great, thank you! When you're ready to try to publish your article, you'll need to have it reviewed, rather than moving it to the mainspace yourself, because of your conflict of interest. Add {{draft}} to the top of your sandbox, then click the blue "submit for review" button when you're ready to add it to the review queue. Reviewers will be looking to make sure that your submission meets these two guidelines in particular: WP:NPOV and WP:NCORP.
