Improperly sourced statements regarding 2024 World Aquatics Championships

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm Peloneous. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Doha, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I have also removed the identical statement added to 2024 Summer Olympics whose citation was to a non-existent page on the Qatar Tourism website. Thank you.

Overlinking

Hello, I partially reverted your edits to Salman of Saudi Arabia as you added links to things that should generally not be linked; countries, especially common ones such as the ones you linked (China, Japan, Pakistan, etc.) should generally not be linked to, as described in MOS:OL, as well as dates, including the link you added to 2015. There is a reason those pages were not linked to before, and please take a look at the MOS conventions on what generally should and should not be linked. Thanks. July 2024

File:Information orange.svg Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in :Zamzam Well. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. See MOS:OVERLINK. Please do not link country names. You have been warned about this previously. October 2024

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm Frost. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to :Qatari involvement in higher education in the United States have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. {{PAGENAME}} Frost 11:53, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

May 2025

File:Information.svg Hi Fidjeri! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Justjourney (talk | contribs) 16:48, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hi Justjourney, thank you for your messege and kind approach. I am aware of the policy, however from what comes to my mind at the moment, reversions i did, were on article that information i wrote was wrongly deleted time and again. Sometime by a user that simply used an ip, not even explaining why he deleted information. My guess is, he didn't like what is written.

:I do my best to follow the rules, each reversion i did, is explained, sourced and backed with facts. I understand the point you are making. Having said that, i hope you approached some of those who deleted information, and explained them the policy. Once again i thank you for your messege, i hope you understood my point too. I will do my best to follow policy in the future. Fidjeri (talk) 18:47, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

{{Quote|1=Good start, however the page is not fully meeting neutrality and other WP guidelines. To overpass one event notability issue you have to work more on this page and demonstrate a lasting general notability}}
