Vanadium oxydichloride is the inorganic compound with the formula VOCl2. One of several oxychlorides of vanadium, it is a hygroscopic green solid. It is prepared by comproportionation of vanadium trichloride and vanadium(V) oxides:{{cite book|author=G. Brauer|chapter=Vanadium Oxydichloride|title=Handbook of Preparative Inorganic Chemistry, 2nd Ed. |editor=G. Brauer|publisher=Academic Press|year=1963|place=NY|pages=1263}}

:V2O5 + VOCl3 + 3 VCl3 → 6 VOCl2

As verified by X-ray crystallography, vanadium oxydichloride adopts a layered structure, featuring octahedral vanadium centers linked by doubly bridging oxide and chloride ligands.{{cite journal|doi=10.1002/zaac.19814790804|title=Beitrage zur Chemie und Struktur von Vanadylhalogeniden|journal=Zeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie|volume=479|pages=32–40|year=1981|last1=Seifert|first1=H. From VOCl2, various blue or green-colored oxotri- and oxotetrachloride salts can be prepared. Examples include N(CH3)4VOCl3 and the pyridinium derivative (C5H5NH)2VOCl4.{{cite journal |doi=10.1039/J19660001175 |title=The preparation and spectral properties of complex oxochlorovanadates(IV) |year=1966 |last1=Kilty |first1=P.
