In anatomy and neurology, the ventral root of spinal nerve, anterior root, or motor root{{Cite web|title=Spinal Nerves - an overview {{!}} ScienceDirect Topics|url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/neuroscience/spinal-nerves#:~:text=The%20ventral%20(anterior)%20or%20motor,the%20large%20lower%20motor%20neurons.|access-date=2021-05-06|website=www.sciencedirect.com}} is the efferent motor root of a spinal nerve.
At its distal end, the ventral root joins with the dorsal root to form a mixed spinal nerve.
