Xft, the X FreeType interface library, is a free computer program library written by Keith Packard.{{cite journal |title=The Xft Font Library: Architecture and Users Guide |author=Keith Packard |author-link=Keith Packard |url=http://keithp.com/~keithp/talks/xtc2001/paper/ |date=2001-11-08 |journal=Proceedings of the 5th Annual Conference on Linux Showcase & Conference |volume=5 |publisher=USENIX Association|pages=22}}

{{cite book |title=Linux in a Windows World |author=Roderick W. Smith |publisher=O'Reilly |page=458}} It uses the MIT/X license that The Open Group applied after the post X11R6.4 license restoration.

It is designed to allow the FreeType font rasterizer to be used with the X Rendering Extension; it is generally employed to use FreeType's anti-aliased fonts with the X Window System. Xft also depends on fontconfig for access to the system fonts.
