Critical reception
Navamani appreciated the performances of Srikanth, Prameela and the cow Lakshmi, adding that the film was better titled "Vaa" (come) Matha rather than "Go" Matha.{{Cite news |date=4 August 1973 |title=கோமாதா என் குலமாதா |url=https://images.eap.bl.uk/EAP372/EAP372_6_22_1_59/4.jp2/full/1000,1476/0/default.jpg |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20241008125223/https://images.eap.bl.uk/EAP372/EAP372_6_22_1_59/4.jp2/full/1000,1476/0/default.jpg |archive-date=8 October 2024 |access-date=8 October 2024 |work=Navamani |pages=4 |language=ta |via=Endangered Archives Programme}}
