During a session of the Knesset Finance Committee on 23 February 2025, members of the opposition inquired whether state funds were still being allocated for the security detail of Yair Netanyahu in Miami, USA—including a chauffeur and bodyguards from Shin Bet’s Unit 730—as well as for Sara Netanyahu. They also requested clarification on which specific budget these expenses were being drawn from. Opposition members alleged that Yair Netanyahu had been sent abroad after an incident in which he reportedly struck his father, and claimed he remained outside the country due to having disrespected a symbol of state authority. Netanyahu’s Likud party described this statement as "a despicable lie".{{cite web | last=Fabian | first=Emanuel | title=MK claims Netanyahu’s son was sent abroad for hitting PM; Likud: ‘A despicable lie’ | website=The Times of Israel | date=2025-02-23 | url=https://www.timesofisrael.com/mk-claims-netanyahus-son-was-sent-abroad-for-hitting-pm-likud-a-despicable-lie/ | access-date=2025-04-12}}{{cite web | title=Netanyahu son Yair 'exiled' after hitting PM, Israeli MK claims | publisher=The New Arab | date=2025-02-23 | url=https://www.newarab.com/news/netanyahu-son-yair-exiled-after-hitting-pm-israeli-mk-claims | access-date=2025-04-12}}{{cite web | title=Israeli MK: Yair Netanyahu beat his father Benjamin and was exiled to America | website=جريدة القدس | date=2025-04-12 | url=https://www.alquds.com/en/posts/152760 | access-date=2025-04-12}}{{cite web | last=Rubin | first=Bentzi | title=Yair Netanyahu sues MK for claim he was sent abroad because he hit his father | website= The Jerusalem Post | date=2025-02-23 | url=https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-843354 | access-date=2025-04-12}}{{cite web | title=Israeli Lawmaker Accuses Yair Netanyahu of Being Exiled to Miami After Alleged Assault on PM | website=Haaretz.com | date=2025-02-23 | url=https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-02-23/ty-article/.premium/israeli-mk-accuses-yair-netanyahu-of-being-exiled-to-miami-after-alleged-assault-on-pm/00000195-32bf-d09e-a3ff-77bfde710000 | access-date=2025-04-12}}{{cite web | last=Tarnopolsky | first=Noga | title=Yair Netanyahu’s Vanishment Cements Him in Israel’s Political Sphere | website=New Lines Magazine | date=2023-04-19 | url=https://newlinesmag.com/spotlight/yair-netanyahus-vanishment-cements-him-in-israels-political-sphere/ | access-date=2025-04-12}}
