10th federal electoral district of Chihuahua
{{short description|Defunct Federal Electoral District of Chihuahua, Mexico}}
The 10th federal electoral district of Chihuahua (Distrito electoral federal 10 de Chihuahua) was a federal electoral district of the Mexican state of Chihuahua from 1977 to 1997.
During its existence it returned one deputy to the Chamber of Deputies for each of the 51st to 56th sessions of Congress (1979 to 1997). Votes cast in the district also counted towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the second region.{{cite web |title=How Mexico Elects Its Leaders — The Rules |url=https://mexicosolidarityproject.org/voices/172/ |website=Mexico Solidarity Project |access-date=20 July 2024 |date=31 January 2024}}{{cite web |title=Circunscripciones |url=https://ayuda.ine.mx/2021/informate/assets/docs/Elecciones/Circunscripciones.pdf |website=ayuda.ine.mx |publisher=Instituto Nacional Electoral |access-date=20 July 2024}}
The 10th district was created as part of the 1977 political reforms and was first contested in the 1979 mid-term election. It was dissolved in the Federal Electoral Institute's 1996 redistricting process because the state's population no longer warranted ten districts.{{cite journal |title=Evolución territorial de los distritos electorales federales uninominales, 1977–2010 |last1=Baños Martínez |first1=Marco Antonio |last2=Palacios Mora |first2=Celia |trans-title=Territorial evolution of the federal uninominal electoral districts, 1977–2010 |journal=Investigaciones Geográficas |publisher=Instituto de Geografía, UNAM |place=Mexico City |date=2014 |issue=84 |page=92 |doi=10.14350/rig.34063 |url=https://www.investigacionesgeograficas.unam.mx/index.php/rig/article/view/34063/39223 |access-date=3 July 2024}}
