The 1857 Minnesota Attorney General election was held on 13 October 1857 in order to elect the first attorney general of Minnesota upon Minnesota acquiring statehood on 11 May 1858. Democratic nominee Charles H. General election
On election day, 13 October 1857, Democratic nominee Charles H. Berry won the election by a margin of 899 votes against his opponent Republican nominee George Nourse, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of attorney general.
