A pre-recorded movie parody included Sarah Silverman re-enacting with the characters from Babel, Dreamgirls, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Departed, 300, The Devil Wears Prada, and Transformers.

Sarah Silverman repeatedly made negative jokes towards Paris Hilton, which caused mixed reactions from the general audience. The audience at the Gibson Amphitheatre, however, were cheering after Silverman stated that Paris was going to jail very soon.{{cite web|url= https://www.abc.net.au/news/2007-06-04/paris-upstages-mtv-movie-award-winners/57980 |title= Paris upstages MTV Movie Award winners |work= Australian Broadcasting Corporation |date= June 4, 2007 |access-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20231125201640/https://www.abc.net.au/news/2007-06-04/paris-upstages-mtv-movie-award-winners/57980 |url-status=live}} In 2011, it was reported that Sarah apologized to Paris for joking about her prison time.{{cite web|url= https://ew.com/news/sarah-silverman-immediately-regretted-paris-hilton-jokes-wrote-to-apologize/ |title= Sarah Silverman says she 'immediately' regretted Paris Hilton jokes at 2007 MTV Movie Awards and wrote her to apologize |first1= Ruth |last1= Kinane |first2= Joey |last2= Nolfi |work= Entertainment Weekly |date= March 5, 2021 |access-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20231125203500/https://ew.com/news/sarah-silverman-immediately-regretted-paris-hilton-jokes-wrote-to-apologize/ |url-status=live}}{{cite web|url= https://people.com/tv/sarah-silverman-apologizes-paris-hilton-joking-jail-time-2007-mtv-movie-awards/ |title= Sarah Silverman Apologizes to Paris Hilton for Joking About Her Jail Time at 2007 MTV Movie Awards |first= Naledi |last= Ushe |work= People |date= March 4, 2021 |access-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-date= November 25, 2023 |archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20231125203506/https://people.com/tv/sarah-silverman-apologizes-paris-hilton-joking-jail-time-2007-mtv-movie-awards/ |url-status=live}}

The pre-show was the subject of a rather vociferous ad campaign for the upcoming summer flick Transformers (distributed by Paramount Pictures, a subsidiary of Viacom, which also owns MTV), which included an extended interview with star Shia LaBeouf, several sneak previews, a "real-life" example of a car used in the movie, etc. The focus on the film was further reinforced when the film won in the category "Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet." The pre-show also included Hilton's last interview before entering jail.
