The 2019–20 season was the 139th season of competitive football by Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) with the team participating in the Scottish Premiership. Hearts played their fifth consecutive season in the top tier of Scottish football, having been promoted from the Scottish Championship at the end of the 2014–15 season.{{cite web | url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32010547 | title=Hearts celebrate securing Championship title | publisher=BBC Sport | work=bbc.co.uk/sport | date=22 March 2015 | access-date=8 January 2019}} They reached the Semi-final of the Scottish League Cup and reached the Final of the Scottish Cup.
