Controversies

Following the completion of the competition, the South Korea team was criticised for disrespecting the trophy. A South Korean player was seen to place the trophy on the ground and place his foot on it. The Panda Cup organising committee issued a formal statement on the issue and demanded an apology from the players and the South Korean representatives.{{cite web |script-title=zh:熊猫杯组委会声明:对所有参与者的侮辱 必须道歉 |url=http://sports.sina.com.cn/china/gqgs/2019-05-29/doc-ihvhiqay2347577.shtml |website=Sina.com |date=29 May 2019 |accessdate=30 May 2019 |language=Chinese}}{{cite news |url=https://www.chinapress.com.my/20190530/脚踩-熊猫杯惹风波-韩足队道歉灭火/| title=脚踩-熊猫杯惹风波-韩足队道歉灭火|accessdate=30 May 2019 |agency=ChinaPress |date=29 May 2019}}
