The 2023 Panda Cup is the seventh edition of the international youth association football competition.
Previously held as an annual under-18 and under-19 event, the tournament was cancelled between 2020 and 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic in China. In April 2023, Chengdu Football Association announced that the 2023 Panda Cup would take place after 4 years and will be an under-22 event to prepare for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification and the 2022 Asian Games.{{cite news |title=熊猫杯重启赛程敲定 国奥队提前回国首战巴林队 |url=https://sports.sina.com.cn/china/2023-05-11/doc-imytkvme4347499.shtml |accessdate=13 May 2023 |publisher=Sina |website=Sports.sina.com |date=13 May 2023|language=Chinese}} Players born on or after 1 January 2001 are eligible to compete in the tournament.
The tournament was originally planned to be held in Chengdu between 14 and 18 June 2023. Participating teams
