The 2020 New York Mets season was the franchise's 59th season and the team's 12th season at Citi Field. On September 23, the team suffered its 31st loss, sealing their third losing season in four years. On September 26, the Mets were eliminated from playoff contention in a 4–3 loss to the Washington Nationals, continuing a four-year-long playoff drought.
