The 2024 season was the Green Bay Packers 104th in the National Football League (NFL), their 106th overall, their seventh under the leadership of general manager Brian Gutekunst and their sixth under head coach Matt LaFleur. The Packers improved upon their 9–8 record from last year following a Week 15 victory against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football. With their Week 16 34—0 shutout win over the New Orleans Saints, the Packers clinched a Wild Card spot and their fifth playoff berth in six seasons under Lafleur.{{cite web | last=Kownack | first=Bobby | title=Packers clinch playoff berth with dominant win over Saints on Monday night | website=NFL.com | date=December 24, 2024 | url=https://www.nfl.com/news/packers-clinch-playoff-berth-with-dominant-win-over-saints-on-monday-night | access-date=January 12, 2025}}

The Packers became the first team in NFL history to win 800 regular season games following their Week 2 victory against the Indianapolis Colts.{{cite web |last=Gordon |first=Grant |title=Packers defeat Colts at Lambeau to become first franchise with 800 wins |website=NFL.com |date=September 15, 2024 |url=https://www.nfl.com/news/packers-defeat-colts-at-lambeau-to-become-first-franchise-with-800-wins |access-date=November 26, 2024}} The Packers clinched their 37th playoff appearance in 2024, the most of any team in the league.{{Cite web |last=Writer |first=Mike Warren Contributing |date=December 24, 2024 |title=Packers clinch playoff spot with win over Saints |url=https://www.kewauneecountystarnews.com/stories/packers-clinch-playoff-spot-with-win-over-saints,223474 |access-date=December 28, 2024 |website=Kewaunee County Star News }} However, the Packers finished the season 1–5 against their division, with their only win being against the Chicago Bears in Week 11, in which Karl Brooks blocked a potential game-winning 46-yarder from Cairo Santos.{{Cite web |last=Huber |first=Bill |url=https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/playoff-bound-packers-set-nfl-record-with-loss-to-bears |title=Playoff-Bound Packers Set Incredible NFL Record With Loss to Bears |website=si.com |publisher=Sports Illustrated |date=January 6, 2025 |access-date=January 13, 2025}} Unlike last year, the Packers failed to win the Wild Card round of the playoffs for the first time since 2013 when they fell to the eventual Super Bowl LIX champion Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 22–10. This was the final full season for Mark Murphy as CEO as he is expected to retire in July 2025 and be replaced by Ed Policy.{{Cite news |last=Matesic |first=Emily |url=https://fox11online.com/news/local/end-of-an-era-mark-murphy-takes-final-packers-pregame-walk-green-bay-nfl-draft-fans-titletown-colgate-university-northwestern-university-green-bay-packers-tubing-skating-the-turn |title=End of an era: Mark Murphy takes final Packers pregame walk |publisher=WLUK |date=January 5, 2025 |access-date=January 13, 2025}}

Despite Green Bay forcing two turnovers off Jalen Hurts deep in Philadelphia territory in the first quarter, the Packers were held to field goals both times, resulting in a 6–0 lead after the first quarter. Following a back and forth second and third quarter, the Packers found themselves down 31–26 with the Eagles having the ball deep in Packers territory, however Jaire Alexander intercepted Hurts to give the Packers a chance to reclaim the lead. However, the Packers were forced to settle for a field goal with just under 8 minutes left to cut the lead to 31–29. The Eagles then drained all but the remaining 27 seconds off the clock before kicking a field goal to extend the lead to 34–29, which was the final score. On the Packers' final drive, Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain, causing him to miss the next two games of the season.[https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/live-blog/eagles-packers-game-nfl-live-updates-rcna169867 Eagles vs. Packers highlights: Philadelphia defeats Green Bay 34–29], NBC News, September 7, 2024

This was the fourth playoff meeting between Philadelphia and Green Bay. The Eagles led the playoff series 2–1, including wins in the 1960 NFL Championship Game and the 2003 NFC Divisional Game, where the Eagles converted on 4th and 26 on their tying drive late in the fourth quarter, although the Packers won the most recent playoff meeting, a 21–16 win in the 2010 NFC Wild Card Game in Philadelphia en route to their win in Super Bowl XLV. In the regular season, the Eagles defeated the Packers 34–29 in a neutral-site game in São Paulo, Brazil in Week 1.

The Eagles recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and scored a touchdown to take an early 7–0 lead. At the end of the quarter, the Eagles kicked a field goal to extend the lead to 10–0. Following a scoreless second quarter, the Packers cut the lead to 10–3 with a field goal almost 10 minutes into the third quarter, but the Eagles soon extended the lead to 16–3 with a Dallas Goedert touchdown. While the Packers cut the deficit to 16–10 early in the fourth quarter with a touchdown from Josh Jacobs, the Eagles responded with a field goal to go up 19–10. Following a turnover on downs from the Packers, the Eagles kicked another field goal to take a 22–10 lead. Cornerback Quinton Mitchell then intercepted Jordan Love in the end zone, sealing the win for Philadelphia.

A video filmed during the game of an Eagles fan harassing a female Packers fan with derogatory and misogynistic phrases in the stands went viral on social media.[21][22] The cameraman, who is the woman's fiancée, posted the video online and asked people watching to "help me out and find this man". He avoided any physical altercation with the Eagles fan to not get himself kicked out. The Eagles fan was banned for life from attending Lincoln Financial Field,[23] and his place of employment fired him after being notified of his actions and conducting investigations.[24] He later issued an apology.[25]
