ACM SIGARCH is the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on computer architecture, a community of computer professionals and students from academia and industry involved in research and professional practice related to computer architecture and design.{{cite web|title=SIGARCH|url=https://www.sigarch.org/|website=ACM SIGARCH|publisher=Association for Computing Machinery|accessdate=3 June 2017}} The organization sponsors many prestigious international conferences in this area, including the International Symposium on Computer Architecture (ISCA), recognized as the top conference in this area since 1975.{{cite web|title=Acceptance rates in my top conferences|url=https://engineering.purdue.edu/~vijay/papers/acceptance.html|website=Purdue Engineering|publisher=Purdue University|accessdate=4 June 2017}} Together with IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Computer Architecture (TCCA), it is one of the two main professional organizations for people working in computer architecture.{{cite web|title=The ACM/IEEE ISCA 2015|url=https://www.ece.cmu.edu/calcm/isca2015/|website=Electrical & Computer Engineering|publisher=Carnegie Mellon University|accessdate=4 June 2017}}
ACM SIGARCH was formed in August 1971, initially as a Special Interest Committee (a precursor to a SIG), with Michael J. Flynn as the founding chairman.{{Cite journal|date=January 1972|title=SICARCH Formed|url=http://portalparts.acm.org/650000/641647/fm/frontmatter.pdf|journal=Computer Architecture News|volume=1|pages=1}}{{cite journal|last1=Foster|first1=C.
